Where is Sweet Hillock located?

Sweet Hillock is located in Upper Ojai, California, approximately 90 minutes from Los Angeles and just a short drive from downtown Ojai. While easily accessible for guests traveling from the city, the estate feels quietly removed from traffic and noise, offering wide sky, oak-dotted hills, and uninterrupted mountain views. It feels like a retreat without requiring a long journey.


What types of events do you host?

Sweet Hillock is primarily offered for weddings, ceremony-only celebrations, and editorial or brand photoshoots. We host a limited number of gatherings each year to preserve the privacy and integrity of the land.


What is the guest capacity?

The estate can accommodate up to 250 guests. For the most comfortable and elevated experience, we find that celebrations of 100 to 150 guests feel especially well suited to the landscape.


Is the entire property included in the rental?

Full Estate Weddings include exclusive access to the ceremony and reception grounds, as well as the Primary Suite for bridal preparations and the upstairs Library for groom preparations. At this time, the main residence is not offered for overnight accommodations.


Do you offer ceremony-only rentals?

Yes. We offer a ceremony-only option for couples who wish to exchange vows at Sweet Hillock while hosting their reception elsewhere. This includes private access to the ceremony site and time for portraits.


Is there parking on site?

Yes. The property has space to accommodate guest parking and vendor load-in. Specific logistics are coordinated during the planning process to ensure a seamless flow.


Can we bring our own vendors?

Yes. Vendor selection is open. We welcome collaborative relationships with planners and creative teams who respect the land and atmosphere of the estate.

Is Sweet Hillock a full-service venue?

Sweet Hillock is currently offered as a space-only private estate. Couples and planners are welcome to bring in their preferred vendors. We are building a thoughtfully curated list of recommended partners aligned with the aesthetic and experience of the property.


How far in advance should we book?

Weddings are typically booked at least six months in advance, and often earlier for peak seasons. Photoshoots are generally booked one month in advance, depending on availability.


No. We host a limited number of celebrations annually and do not double-book events. Each wedding or gathering receives exclusive access to the estate for the day.

Do you host more than one event per weekend?

Yes. Tours are offered by appointment following an initial inquiry to confirm availability and alignment. We recommend reaching out early, as dates are limited.
